Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Ad Library Checker (the "Service"), operated by [Legal entity, TODO] ("we", "us", or "our"), handles information. Ad Library Checker is a free web tool that builds links into the public ad transparency libraries published by Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn. We designed it to collect as little as possible.
The short version
- The checker runs in your own browser. The business name or domain you type is used to build search links and is not sent to us.
- We do not host, scrape or store ad data. The links open each platform’s own public library directly.
- If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit so we can tell you when the bulk-check extension is available.
- We keep cookies and analytics to a minimum, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time.
1. How the Service works
Ad Library Checker runs entirely in your own browser. When you enter a business name or domain and choose a country, the page builds search links for the official ad transparency libraries and opens them in new tabs when you click. The text you type is used only to construct those links in your browser. It is not transmitted to us, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties.
When you open one of those libraries, you are interacting with that platform (Meta, Google, TikTok or LinkedIn) directly, under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for how they handle your visit.
2. Information we collect
Searches you run in the checker
The business names and domains you check are processed locally in your browser to build links. We do not receive, log or store them.
Waitlist information
If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit so we can let you know when the bulk-check extension is available. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
3. Cookies and analytics
We keep cookies and analytics minimal. We use only what is needed to operate the website and to understand high-level, aggregate usage (such as page views) so we can improve the Service. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
4. How we use information
- To provide and maintain the Service.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To send you Service-related messages, such as waitlist or availability updates.
- To keep the Service secure and to prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the Service (for example, hosting or email delivery), and only to the extent needed to provide the Service. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep waitlist information for as long as your waitlist entry is active, or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your waitlist entry at any time by contacting us, and we will do so within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a portable copy of your information.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information in this way.
You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we store. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where reasonable.
